Erin’s House for Grieving Children

Erin’s House for Grieving Children provides support services for children, teens and their families who have suffered the death of a loved one.


Center for Loss & Life Transition

Dr. Alan Wolfelt is known across North America for his inspirational teaching gifts and compassionate messages about healing in grief. Dr. Wolfelt is founder and director of the Center for Loss and Life Transition and is best known for his model of “companioning” verses “treating” mourners.


The Compassionate Friends

A self-help organization that is open to all bereaved families who have experienced the death of a child, sibling, or grandchild from any cause, at any age, from pre-birth to adulthood.

The Compassionate Friends meet at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Wayne St., on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., with the exception of July & December, and the following Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at The Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center, 5920 Homestead Road.

The mission of TCF: When a child dies, at any age, the family suffers intense pain and may feel helpless and isolated. TCF provides highly personal comfort, hope, and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or daughter, a brother or sister, or a grandchild and helps others better assist the grieving family.
