GRIEF PROGRAM SCHEDULE

Registration is required to participate. All programs are fragrance free. For the health and safety of our facilitators and participants, please refrain from wearing scented lotions or perfumes.

Wellness Coaching Cohort: Tuesday, March 3 | 1:30-3:30pm

In the wellness cohort, you will discover what behavior changes you'd like to make that may have been impacted by grief. After the cohort, each participant can choose to schedule up to 3 individual coaching sessions with the facilitator to work more directly on goals. Sessions are to be used within the quarter.

Tai Chi 4-Week Series: Thursdays, March 5-26 | 11am-12pm

Tai Chi combines gentle, flowing movements paired with breath to create a meditative practice in motion. For continued participation in the series, attendance the first week is required.

Yoga for Respite & Restoration: Wednesday, March 11 & 25 | 10:00-10:50AM

This 50-minute restorative-style yoga practice is intended for rest through slow, mindful movements, breathing, and meditation. You can practice in a chair or on a mat. No experience is required.

Death Cafe: Saturday, March 14 | 10-11:30 AM

**This is not a grief support group or educational seminar** This is a group-led discussion around death and dying without an agenda, action items, or objectives.

MELT Method: March 18 | 10-11 AM

Help restore your nervous system and release physical tension that can be caused by grief.

Drum Circle: March 19 | 10-11 AM

Express your emotions and shift your mood through rhythmic drumming.

Grief Hike at Vandolah Nature Preserve: Friday, March 20 | 10am

Movement in nature can help with processing emotions and bring a sense of calm and connection. Join us on a monthly hike with ACRES. Hikes are supported by the Ralph E. Taylor Conservation Fund.

Grief Garden: Sunday, March 22 | 10am-12pm

Join us at Honey Plant to cultivate your own grief garden and tend to your grief. You will learn about caring for houseplants while curating your own griefscape in your planter. Participants are encouraged to bring their own tokens or figures that represent their loved one(s) to personalize their experience. This event has a small fee of $10, which covers the cost of your plant, soil, and planter.

Paint Expression: Monday, March 30 | 1-3:30 PM

Use various paints and collage techniques to express the feelings of grief that can be hard to put into words. Creative expression is about the process of painting, rather than the end product.

A full list of program offerings at The Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center. Open to any adult who has experienced a death-related loss, free of charge. Hospice involvement is not a requirement.

Death Café
This is not a grief support group, space to process grief, or educational seminar.
2nd Saturdays every other month.
Meetings:
March, May, July, September, November 2026

A group-directed discussion on death and dying over coffee or tea and baked goods. No agenda, objectives, or themes.

Yoga for Respite and Restoration

3rd Friday of each month.

Process grief through a group hike at various ACRES trail locations.
Space is limited to 10 participants.

Third Thursdays of every month
Experience rhythm, music, and community bonding through a drum circle. Immerse yourself in the beat, connect with friends and let the rhythm uplift your spirits. No experience necessary.

Third Wednesdays of every month

Hands-off bodywork to restore your nervous system, calm your mind, and balance your body.

Take a holistic approach in discovering what areas of life you may be feeling depleted in. You will craft a wellness vision to guide any goals to help replenish those areas. You can then choose to  schedule 3 individualized coaching sessions after the cohort, to be used within the quarter.

Express your mood through a variety of paints.

Sound Bath
Second Thursday of every quarter–April, July, and October
6-7:30 p.m.
An immersive sound experience with singing bowls.

Embodied Dance Movement
Last Thursday of every quarter–April, July, and October
6-7 p.m.
Dance focusing on moving your body through your mood and music.

Book Club
First Monday of every quarter– May, August, and November
5-7 p.m.

Join us for book club discussion with books on grief, death, and dying.

Clay Expression
First Wednesday of every quarter–May, August, and November

Express your mood through shaping polymer clay.

Knitting 101
Fall 2026
Knitting has been known to be a meditative hobby as a creative outlet that can help reduce stress.
Learn the basic skills of knitting in this series. Supplies will be provided. For continued participation, attendance the first week is required.

Meditation & Mindfulness

This 4-week program is designed to help you be present with the various experiences of grief you may encounter in daily life. You will learn meditation concepts and practices to live mindfully alongside your grief. No experience necessary.

Grief Garden
