Visiting Nurse and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce that the agency’s minimum wage has been increased to $15 per hour. The increase in compensation is taking place now as Visiting Nurse seeks to grow its care team and wants to invest in current and future employees.
Visiting Nurse currently has openings for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA’s) and Nurses. Serving 11 counties in Northeast Indiana, Visiting Nurse is unique in the levels of medical care from home health focused on chronic disease management, to palliative care and hospice care in homes and in its Hospice Home inpatient facility.
In addition to this compensation increase, working for a nonprofit, community-based hospice organization allows for staff members to spend quality one-on-one time with their patients. These roles are autonomous and allow staff members to walk into a patient’s home, sit down at their kitchen table and use their specialized hospice skills. Many staff members who join the Visiting Nurse family do so because of personal experiences they have had with hospice care.
Visiting Nurse’s CEO Leslie Friedel said, “we are thrilled to increase Visiting Nurse’s minimum wage to $15 per hour. We are fortunate to have such dedicated and talented team members and are pleased to make this change happen starting today.” Visiting Nurse offers a unique opportunity for interested applicants to shadow our staff to experience, firsthand, the day in the life of a Visiting Nurse team member.
